Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award
The Correctional Service of Canada, through its National Steering Committee on Restorative Justice and Dispute Resolution is pleased to announce that it is accepting nominations for the 2004 Ron Wiebe Award. This award was established in honour of the late Ron Wiebe, formally, Warden of Ferndale and Elbow Lake Minimum Institutions, for his outstanding commitment and leadership in the field of Restorative Justice.
The award is presented annually to a group, organisation or individual that meet the following criteria:
- Models restorative justice principles in the service of justice and peace
- Demonstrates through their work or lifestyle, ways of transforming human relations by enabling and promoting communication and healing between people in conflict, be they victims, offenders, colleagues, families or neighbours.
This year's presentation will be hosted by Correctional Service of Canada's Atlantic Region during Restorative Justice Week November 14th to the 21st, 2004.
