MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES - WORKING TOGETHER TO ADVANCE ADDICTIONS RESEARCH

Montague, Prince Edward Island - July 8, 2004 - The second National Summer Institute on Addictions will be taking place from July 12 to July 15, 2004. The result of a partnership between the Addictions Research Centre of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse (CCSA), this event is aimed at increasing knowledge relevant to the treatment of individuals with concurrent mental health and substance abuse problems and to enhance professional skills in the application of treatment programs.

The Institute theme, Concurrent Disorders: Best Practices and their Implementation, has particular relevance for those working in the area of health, social services and criminal justice. The Summer Institute will begin on Monday morning, July 12th. Several opportunities, as listed below, are available to the media.
