The National Research Forum for Young Investigators in Circulatory and Respiratory Health (YI Forum)

The purpose of the Young Investigators Forum is to support young researchers from the circulatory-respiratory community by offering them the opportunity to deliver scientific presentations, to learn about current circulatory and respiratory research activity, to network with many colleagues and mentors and to gain experience in leadership roles such as Chairing sessions or mentoring others. 

The roles and responsibilities of the YI Forum Steering Committee are as follows:

ICRH is pleased to announce the results from the 2006 YI Forum Evaluation Survey!

ICRH is requesting your input and participation in nominating 3 trainees/young investigators to be members of the YI Forum Steering Committee.  Please complete the nomination form by September 13, 2006 to nominate a trainee/young investigator for representation on the Steering Committee. 

We are seeking your input and participation in an online survey to help us improve The National Research Forum for Young Investigators.

UPDATE - (September) Last month, the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health requested the nomination of 3 trainees/young investigators to participate as members of the YI Forum Steering Committee. On behalf of ICRH, we would like to thank all those who put forward suggestions for this important committee.  We have received many nominations of qualified candidates and will announce our decision in mid October.  Please visit the website for regular updates.

UPDATE - (November) The ICRH received a total of 110 nominations for trainees and young investigators to join the Young Investigators Forum Steering Committee.  In recognition of the number of outstanding candidates nominated, the ICRH team and Advisory Board members decided to increase the number of representatives from three to eight.

The first Steering Committee meeting will take place on November 20th, 2006.  The YI Forum Steering Committee will be seeking the assistance of trainees and young investigators from across the country with developing the YI Forum, through various sub-committees.  The sub-committees may include a Program and Evaluation Advisory Committee, Communications Advisory Committee, Partnerships Engagement and Budget Advisory Committee, and Venue Advisory Committee.
