Canada on the Move

Canada on the Move is a health research project designed to get Canadians to "donate their steps" to health research. Canadians both with and without pedometers are encouraged to join this national research effort by logging onto a website to submit information about their daily total number of steps and factors that influence their level of physical activity.

Getting Canada On The Move meeting Toronto - March 2005

The Getting Canada On The Move meeting brought together over 60 health promotion/disease prevention practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to discuss Canada On The Move and how it can be expanded into a platform for research, evaluation, and partnership. The gathering was hosted jointly by the Canadian Diabetes Association, Dietitians of Canada & CIHR-INMD and was funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
