About the 2004-2005 Standing Offers

These twelve new standing offers for Desktop, Network and Wide Format Printers (EZ107-030001/0XX/VIC ) allow Government of Canada Departments, Agencies and Crown Corporations to acquire a wide variety of computer printing Equipment in a cost-effective and timely manner. Each of the printers included in these agreements has been selected after rigorous benchmark testing and value analysis conducted in accordance with the laws, regulations and policies affecting public sector procurement in Canada.

There are some changes in this series of Standing Offers, notably new Call-up Limitations giving up to $100,000 call-up authority for those choosing the Best Value printer for their requirement. Category specifications have also been updated, with continued emphasis on multi-functional Equipment. Due to the lack of call-ups in the previous series of Standing Offers, Wide Format LED printers and printer/copiers have been eliminated from this NMSO offering.

As part of our continued emphasis on environmentally sensitive purchasing, most Network printers available from these Standing Offers are duplex printing capable in the NMSO configuration. While we feel that this capacity to print on both sides of the page is an essential resources saving feature, it is important to note that the addition of the duplex feature does make the NMSO configuration prices look higher than street prices. Where the duplex capability is removable, the Offeror has supplied pricing for the duplex module in the Options pricing so that the purchaser may remove the feature in the Call-up at that price, if desired.

These Standing Offers and the related Benchmark Reports are designed to be used in tandem as an Acquisition Guide with relevance to both the novice and the expert buyer. We welcome your questions and comments.
