Senior Police Administration Course (SPAC)The course (13 days) offers officers in middle management positions exposure to knowledge, competencies and skills that can assist with the increased responsibility and authority of their jobs. Using a variety of adult education methodologies, many centered around group problem solving exercises and real life examples drawn from candidates’ experiences, participants learn and practice leadership competencies, such as affecting change and managing resources in the work unit. The candidate’s ability to create a more productive work environment is enhanced. Technical Competencies
Participants CriteriaNewly or recently promoted middle managers who supervise personnel exercising a variety of functions or manage agency-wide or national level programs. All candidates must have 2 years supervisory experience and must have identified their learning needs with their supervisor. LogisticsDuration The SPAC is 13 days long. Location The SPAC is offered at the Canadian Police College (CPC), Ottawa. The College also offers custom courses at other locations. Number of participants The course can accommodate 30 participants divided into 5 work groups/syndicates. Language This course can be offered in both French and English.
