Children and Healthy Eating

Health Canada has developed nutrition guidelines for children through key periods of growth, from infancy to adolescence. These resources will be especially useful for health professionals and educators who work with children. Recognizing that schools can play a key role in promoting healthy eating, resources related to healthy eating in schools are also available. In addition, Health Canada provides Canada's Physical Activity Guides for Children and Youth, which promote the benefits of being physically active.
