SERVICES PAY DIRECTIVE: 1992-083 (37)

NATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION

November 20, 1992

Ottawa, Canada
K1A 0S5

SUBJECT: Salary Service Project (Contributor Salary Data Integrity)

1

PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of this directive is to provide you with notification that client implementation was successfully completed on Nov. 16, 1992.

2

BACKGROUND

2.1 The Salary Service Project was initiated in April 1990 to investigate and resolve Pay and Contributor System salary data integrity problems. SSC modified the existing Pay Contributor Systems salary process to significantly reduce the number of rejects. We also developed two new Contributor System on-line applications, On-line Salary Correction and Entry and On-line Salary Verification. These new applications will give Supply and Services' On-line Pay and Pension Application clients the ability to correct and verify current and historical salary information on the Contributor Data Base. The new applications are intended to provide the tools necessary to support the ongoing business of Pension Quotations, Estimates of Cost, Management Employee Benefit Statements and Inquiries with accurate source data.

3

POLICY

3.1 The departments will now be responsible for the correction of the on-going and quarterly Contributor Salary rejects. In this regard, the Unprocessed Transaction Report listings are now being distributed to departments by the SSC Regional Offices currently serving them.

3.2 The SSC Regional Offices will be responsible for the correction of the on-going and quarterly Contributor Salary rejects for clients not using on-line.

3.3 The new On-line Correction/Entry and Verification Applications have been assigned to all departmental users who currently have a valid On-line Pay User ID and password and have requested training from their Regional SSC Service Offices in use of the new applications. The assignment was based on the existing Regional Paylist security control and function structure. Departmental users who could not be assigned by this process should apply for the appropriate User ID through their Security Officer. You will find attached instructions on how to apply for access. If the existing user ID's where not assigned or assigned incorrectly on Nov. 16 then you may apply to SSC to add or delete as required.

4

TRAINING/INSTRUCTIONS

4.1 SSC District Services Offices will provide client services support for the new applications. See list attached for client service offices and phone numbers.

For clients who require future training, a Training Request form will have to be completed and forwarded to the SSC Regional Training Section to register participants for this course. The name of the course will be Contributor Salary Maintenance - course code PA36. Application details are attached.

5

INQUIRIES

5.1 For further information contact your client service office or John McManus at (819) 956-2091 or Ruth O'Halloran at (819) 956-2092.
