SUBJECT: Benefit Plans - Accessing the IAN

PURPOSE

1.1
|
The purpose of this directive is to provide you with the remittance agency
alpha codes for the benefit plans.
|
|

|
BACKGROUND
|
|
2.1
|
Effective September 18, 1995, the Individual Agency Number (IAN) is to be used
in the administration of the insurance plans.
|
|
2.2
|
For more information please refer to Compensation Directives 1995-032, 1995-035
and 1995-036.
|
|

POLICY
|
|
3.1
|
In order to access an employee's IAN on the Central Index System, the
remittance agency alpha code is required.
|
|

|
PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS
|
|
4.1
|
Attached is a list of these remittance agency alpha codes.
|
|
For example, the alpha code for Mutual Life is CD.
|
|
4.2
|
An amendment to the Personnel Pay Input Manual (PPIM) will be issued at the
earliest opportunity.
|
|
