INFORMATION/UPDATE
2.1
Lately, the Year 2000 and its impact on computer systems on January 1, 2000,
has generated a lot of concern and produced a lot of
information.
In an environment such as compensation, dates are critical to the delivery of
services and can affect the accuracy, timeliness and credibility of the
results. Therefore, PWGSC has established a Year 2000 Project to investigate
the impact of the change to the year 2000 on the pay and pension systems for
which the department is responsible.
2.2
The Year 2000 Project will ensure that all changes to systems are identified
and tested well before the turn of the century in order to ensure that all
compensation computer systems continue to function properly up to and after
January 1, 2000.
Members of the Year 2000 Project Team are working to develop the best strategy
to manage the implementation of any required systems changes in order to
minimize their impact on the ongoing day-to-day operations.
Clients will continue to be kept periodically informed on the status of the
project through communications with the PWGSC Compensation Services Office and
Compensation Directives.
