The Women's Sexual Assault Centre is having a Celebration Evening in honour of International Women's Week. This will be a casual evening of inspiration and celebration. We will have musical entertainment, snacks, and a special guest speaker, Bonnie Diamond. Ms. Diamond, an Eganville native, is a recipient of the Governor General's Award in 2005 for her outstanding contributions to the quality of life for women in Canada; in particular, violence against women issues. A former Executive Director of the Elizabeth Fry Society, she currently works for the National Association of Women and the Law, an organization that provides feminist analysis and promotes women s human rights. The topics she will cover during our Celebration Evening include: Staying Alive In The Face Of Fundamentalism , Keeping Strong , and Working Together. |
