SUBJECT: Change to the Pension Division System - Year 2000 Compliance

PURPOSE
|

1.1
|
The purpose of this directive is to inform all members of the compensation
community that a new version of the Pension Division System (PDS) will be
released on February 1st, 1999.
|
|

BACKGROUND
|
|
2.1
|
Public Works and Government Services Canada has initiated a project
establishing the Compensation Systems as Year 2000 compliant.
|
|

|
PROCEDURES/INSTRUCTIONS
|
|
3.1
|
The addition of the century value in the display and the capture of all dates
on every screen is the only change made to the PDS.
|
|
3.2
|
Since this is a minor change, there is no training requirement on the specific
Year 2000 change.
|
|
3.3
|
For information purposes, the existing Pension Benefits Division Benekit Course
will be updated to reflect the change to the PDS.
|
