Due to a system problem some employees have an unusual difference between the net amount of their first and second pay for the month of August. The total net pay amount is correct for the month of August and the usual payroll deductions remain unaffected. Please ensure that you remind employees that if their first pay in August (dated August 13) was significantly higher than usual, then their second pay in August (dated August 27) will be significantly less than usual. The system problem has been corrected, therefore the September regular pay net amounts will be balanced.

Please note that the net amount for regular pay can also vary when the maximum contributions for the Canada Pension Plan, the Quebec Pension Plan, the Employment Insurance or the Yearly Maximum Pensionable Earnings (for the PSSA/RCA contributions rate) has been reached.
