Pension Modernization
What is it?
Compensation Modernization is the renewal of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) compensation services, systems and business processes to be able to continue to fulfill PWGSC’s mandate and provide modern, “industry best practices” services to employees and pensioners.
Why modernize?
The capability of existing systems and business processes is not sufficient to meet increasing client demands for greater flexibility and functionality. The current systems and business processes:
- limit PWGSC’s ability to increase services to employees,
- hamper migration to delivery models mandated by Government On-line (GOL), e-HR and Accounting, Banking and Compensation Branch initiatives, and
- reduce the ability to adapt to new technologies and business practices.
Delivering on PWGSC's commitment to providing value-added services to its clients across the public service requires greater client focus, more flexibility and variety in service options, and enhanced access to information including:
- self-service options,
- real time processing, and
- seamless interfaces.
