Your Step-by-Step Guide to Quitting Smoking

This guide assumes that you truly understand why you smoke (your motives, level of addiction, routines and triggers); why you want to quit, including the benefits and goals you want to achieve; and what to expect and prepare for.

Once you have completed your personal profile questionnaire and thoroughly reviewed your results, you'll be ready to take this final step with confidence and have the best possible chance to succeed.)

Your action plan

Your personal profile helped you understand why you smoke and the changes you need to make to stop. This guide gives you a 10-step action plan to apply those changes in your daily life over the next two to three weeks.

Each step gives you information to think about plus planning advice and specific actions to quit. As you take each step, you may want to write down the facts and information that are most relevant and important to you -- small index cards are ideal, since you can keep them handy at all times. Use them to keep your attention and actions clearly focused on your quitting goal.
