ALLERGY ALERTPRESENCE OF UNDECLARED ALLERGENS IN FOUR CHOCOLATE PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY LES DISTRIBUTIONS YVAN NADEAU INC.OTTAWA, November 3, 1999 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers with allergies to milk, soy, or egg not to consume Assorted Chocolates, Bridge Mix Chocolates, Chocolate Covered Peanuts, and Chocolate Covered Raisins packaged by Les Distributions Yvan Nadeau Inc. of St. Léon de Stanton, Québec. These products contain undeclared milk ingredients, and/or soy, and/or eggs which are not declared on the labels. All lots of the products are being recalled and the associated allergen and UPC Codes for each product are as follows:
Consumption of these products are of concern only to those who are allergic to milk and/or soy and/or egg. There have been no reported illnesses associated with these products. Milk, soy and egg can cause severe allergic reactions in individuals who are allergic to these ingredients. The recalled products have been distributed in the province of Québec, particularly in the Eastern part of the province.
