HEPATITIS A ASSOCIATED WITH GREEN ONIONS IN THE U.S.

This advisory was originally issued as a precaution due to an outbreak of Hepatitis A in the United States. There were no Hepatitis A illnesses reported in Canada associated with the consumption of green onions during the U.S. outbreak. In addition, the Mexican government has passed legislation which will minimize the risk of contamination for all green onions exported to Canada.
