HEALTH HAZARD ALERT
VARIOUS SAUSAGES MANUFACTURED BY WATSON FOOD MAY CONTAIN BONE
FRAGMENTS
OTTAWA, May 24, 2003 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Watson Food are warning
the public not to consume the various sausages described below as they may
contain bone fragments.
The affected products identified below are sold refrigerated in packages
bearing various weights. All packages bear the establishment code CANADA
51A.

These products have been sold at selected Food Basics
stores in Ontario.
Each package bears two labels with different product names.

The manufacturer, Watson Food, Guelph, Ontario is recalling the affected
products from the marketplace. There have been reported injuries associated
with the consumption of these products. These products have been distributed in
Ontario only.
The CFIA is
monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
