Groupe Premier Chef Inc Fined $1,000 for Failing to Prove that Meat Products were Produced in a Federally Accredited Plant

Groupe Premier Chef Inc, located in St Charles de Bellechasse, was found guilty of accepting or processing, in an accredited establishment, a range of meat products without proving that the products were produced in a plant registered with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. These actions were in violated of subparagraphs 44(1) a) (i), (ii), and (iii) of the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.

On October 24, 2002, in the Montmagny courthouse, Quebec Court Judge Narcisse Proulx rendered his decision. The company was fined $1,000 and the products were confiscated.
