Child Safety Groups Fundraising Campaigns not affiliated with Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

April 20, 2005 - The RCMP has received numerous complaints about persons canvassing door-to-door to raise funds for child safety groups which provide support for missing children. The canvassers are claiming to represent the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and/or the federal government ‘our missing children’ program.

Please be advised that the RCMP and the ‘our missing children’ program do not solicit funds door-to-door. There are child safety groups that solicit funds door-to-door on their own initiative, and they are not affiliated with the RCMP.
