Manitoba's Process - Applicants for Police Officer |
1. RCMP Information Session
Winnipeg area applicants must attend an information session prior
to writing the RPAB exams. To sign up for an information session,
please call 984-5050. (People living in the rural parts of Manitoba
start at Step 2 and will be given an Information Session at the
writing of the RPAB exams) |
2. Submit Application |
3. Written Exams - RPAB
(RCMP Police Aptitude Battery)
We accept an RPAT component score of 3.20 out of 5.00 |
4. Selection Package
Suitability Screening and Security Clearance forms, Preliminary
Medical Questionnaire and Vision Test. |
5. P.A.R.E. Test
(Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation)
The PARE test will cost applicants $40.00 (certified cheque or money
order, payable to the Receiver-General of Canada).
For applicants who reside in Winnipeg and the surrounding area,
testing is at the YMCA South, 5 Fermor Avenue (at St. Mary's Road). |

7. RMSIG (Suitability) and Pre-Employment Polygraph Questionnaire |
8. Pre-Employment Polygraph Examination |
9. Background Investigation |
10. Final Medical Exams & Psychological Test |
11. CPR/First Aid and Typing Certificates

12. Final P.A.R.E. Test
(if required, RCMP will cover the expense) |
13. Enrollment - Cadet Training Agreement (contract):
Civilian Applicants: 24 weeks in Regina
Active Police Applicants: 3 weeks (lateral entry)
(We currently enroll about 2 to 3 cadets every week) |
