Welcome to the Criminal Intelligence Directorate. The mission of CID is to provide a national program for the management of criminal information and intelligence which will permit the RCMP to detect and prevent crime having an organized, national security dimension in Canada , or internationally as it affects Canada.

Intelligence is the end product of a process, based on the contribution of many. It is useful only if it is timely, relevant and widely shared among partners within the RCMP and with our partners domestically and internationally. The success of the program, in many ways, hinges on how deeply our employees, partners and stakeholders understand it and how actively they participate in it, both as users of the various intelligence products and as active contributors to the process.
