Throughout the history of the Provincial Police Services Agreement, the services of the RCMP offered to various orders of government have always been viewed as an excellent example of Federal/Provincial/
Territorial relations. The RCMP as an organization takes great pride in its commitment to provide our partners with the most flexible and professional policing service worldwide. This is further supported by the RCMP’s integrated policing model of seamless service delivery, regardless of location.

During 2003, a Contract Policing review was undertaken with a view of determining the level of satisfaction with, and ideas for modernizing the current PPSA. The review confirmed that there is a very high level of satisfaction with the service provided by our membership. And while I am very pleased with these results I am also aware that many of our contracting partners are seeking more flexible mechanisms that are responsive to their community needs. In recognizing these needs, I am committed to working closely with you in establishing a menu of flexible policing options that will further enhance our ability to provide safe homes and safe communities.

To this end I have asked A/Comm. Bill Robinson to undertake the role of National Project Leader for a Client Service Enhancement (CSE) Project. Headquarters and Regional working groups will be created to consult with our employees and clients in each Division, document the initiatives that are currently underway, and seek advice on what else can be done in the future. The project will establish service priorities and review best practices. The ultimate goal is to introduce even greater flexibility into the range of services the RCMP can deliver in an integrated and cost effective manner.

In the coming weeks you will read more about this project. I view this project as an opportunity to provide you with the absolute best policing options available. I look forward to witnessing the positive change that will continue to make the RCMP a dynamic organization and secure our position as the police service of choice now and in 2012.
