Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS)
The Government of Canada has increased its funding of the Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS) provided through the MERX service (www.merx.com), which resulted in the elimination of subscription fees for basic access to federal opportunities as of April 1, 2005.
GETS is the GoC’s tool for advertising government procurement opportunities, subject to the trade agreements. GETS is also an important element of the Government's overall vision to develop Canada as a world leader in electronic commerce. Together with the Government of Canada Marketplace, it is a key component of the federal Electronic Supply Chain Program.
