Institute of Aging (IA)

Annual Report of Activities 2001-2002

Dear stakeholder,

I am proud to offer you a copy of the very first annual report [ HTML | PDF ] from the Institute of Aging, of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

I am sure you will agree, that despite its young age, the Institute is having a real impact in the field of research on aging.

In 2001-2002, its first year of operation, the Institute supported close to 15 teams of researchers on aging. As well the foundation has been laid on two important research initiatives: a national research strategy on cognitive impairment on aging, and a Canadian longitudinal study on aging.

Last April, the strategic and action plans, which describe the Institute's research priorities and strategic goals, were launched.

If you would like to receive a paper copy of the plans, or additional copies of the annual report, please submit a request to the Institute by e-mail to sylvie.delafontaine@usherbrooke.ca or by telephone at (819) 821-5112.

Happy reading,

Dr. Réjean Hébert
Scientific Director
