Canadian Farm Families Options Program
The Canadian Farm Families Options Program provides low-income individual farmers and farm families with short-term financial assistance and access to professional development services to help them make decisions that may increase their family income.

Eligibility Information
- Applicants must commit to obtaining consultation services from the Canadian Farm Business Advisory Services or to establishing an individual learning plan and obtaining skills training through the Canadian Agricultural Skills Service.
Individual farmers must meet the following criteria:
- have a gross farm income of more than $50,000
- have reported a total income of less than $15,000 on their individual income tax return for 2005
- be actively farming
- have reported farm income to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for 2005 and report farm income for 2006
- other criteria may apply
Farm families must meet the following criteria:
- have a gross farm income of more than $50,000
- have reported a total income of less than $25,000 on their individual income tax return for 2005
- be actively farming
- have reported farm income to the CRA for 2005 and report farm income for 2006
- have received the Canada Child Tax Benefit for 2005 or have claimed a dependant for income tax purposes in 2005
- other criteria may apply
