1. ICRH Transition

  • Dr. Peter Liu Appointed New Scientific Director of CIHR's Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health

    Dr. Alan Bernstein, President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), along with CIHR's Governing Council, announced on March 7, 2006 the appointment of Dr. Peter Liu as incoming Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH). This appointment is effective April 3, 2006.

    "Being the Scientific Director for the ICRH is a challenging task and I look forward to the privilege of working with some of the most talented researchers in the world and the Directors of the other twelve Institutes. Together we will strive to achieve our collective goal of reducing the mortality and morbidity of some of the most fatal diseases affecting Canadians."
