IHSPR Knowledge Translation

Knowledge translation is vitally important to the work of IHSPR. We are committed to supporting researchers who engage in best practices in knowledge translation, and to the development of new approaches, methods and tools to assist research on effective knowledge translation. We work with key partners to develop and sustain long-term interactions between researchers and research users, and we support the identification of, promote the use of, and engage in effective approaches to translating knowledge.

All our strategic research initiatives emphasize the importance of translating knowledge to inform the decision making of health care professionals, managers and policy makers. In addition, IHSPR has funded and partnered on a number of programs dedicated to or integrating KT activities, including the Partnerships for Health System Improvement program, Interdisciplinary Capacity Enhancement teams, the CADRE program (in partnership with CHSRF) and various research syntheses RFAs (detailed below).

IHSPR-funded research and researchers have been well recognized through the CIHR KT Awards, including Dr. Patricia Martens and Manitoba's The Need to Know Team, the Canadian Neonatal Network, and Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw, the Canada Research Chair in Health Knowledge Transfer and Uptake and current member of the IHSPR Institute Advisory Board.

Some of our major KT activities include:
