The Canadian Health Research (CIHR)'s 3rd Annual Celebration of Excellence in Canadian Health Research Awards is a great opportunity to honour those who have made an indelible mark on health and medical advancement. Indeed, our nation's success depends on the collective results of individuals and organizations who have been inspired by an idea, and have invested their energy, spirit, mind and labour in keeping it alive and vital. Only those who strive to improve health for Canadians can fully appreciate the sense of fulfilment that comes with the success associated with health research.
Let me also take this opportunity to extend my warmest congratulations to tonight's award recipients as well as everyone associated with the CIHR.
