The Institute of Cancer Research Welcomes Benoît Lussier as Assistant Director

Benoît Lussier earned his Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Western Ontario in 1990. After carrying out his postdoctoral work at the Laboratoire de neurophysiologie of the CNRS (URA 1200) at the University of Bordeaux II (France), he became, in 1992, assistant professor at the University of Montreal where he taught human physiology and carried out research in the field of signal transduction and calcium signalling in neuroendocrine cells. In 1999, Dr. Lussier left academia for the private sector. He became project manager for PeerMed, a division of Euro RSCG Healthcare Advertising, where he was responsible for the management of continuing medical education projects on behalf of several pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis Canada and Schering Canada. Since April 2001, Dr. Lussier has worked as Assistant Director for the Institute of Health Aging in Sherbrooke; however his family situation required him to relocate to Montreal. We were very pleased that he became available for our Institute.
