Stay Safe - An Education Program About Hazard Symbols!

Help on accessing alternative formats, such as PDF, MP3 and WAV files, can be obtained in the alternate format help section.

The Stay Safe program teaches children to recognize the hazard symbols found on household chemical products in a fun and interactive way. The program has guides aimed at two age groups. One is for preschoolers (3-5 years of age) and the other is for school aged children (up to grade four). The school aged program will be released in the spring of 2004.

Stay Safe has various components: the two education guides are for educators and caregivers, while the interactive on-line activity module is for children. The educator's guide provides the background information, while the on-line activities are fun and help children to remember the messages of the program.

The program promotes the simple messages of:

  • STOP when you see a container, don't touch;
  • LOOK for a hazard symbol;
  • STAY SAFE - go get a grown up
