Susan Zimmerman is a lawyer specializing in health law and policy and bioethics. Ms Zimmerman has served as Director of Research for the Law Commission of Canada, as legal counsel to Health Canada, as Director of Legislation and Law Reform for the Canadian Bar Association, as a research associate at the McGill Centre for Medicine, Ethics and Law, and as a sessional lecturer on law and medical ethics. She recently completed a Master of Laws degree at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, where her thesis focussed on the regulation of scientific research.
