Meeting the nutritional needs of infants is well recognized as essential for infants' healthy growth and development. For the best possible start in life, the Public Health Agency of Canada supports and promotes breastfeeding as the unequaled way to provide optimal nutritional, immunological and emotional nurturing of infants. The Public Health Agency of Canada also ensures that health professionals have the information they need to help parents and caregivers meet the growing nutritional needs of children from birth to 2 years of age.

	A Multicultural Perspective of Breastfeeding in Canada "A Multicultural Perspective of Breastfeeding" provides a summary of various beliefs and practices underlying breastfeeding and related infant practices in Canada. It serves as a stepping stone to a mutual respect and understanding of cultural diversity.
	Breastfeeding Friendly Logo The Breastfeeding Friendly Logo was developed in collaboration with La Leche League Canada. It can be printed and posted in areas to indicate that breastfeeding is welcome and encouraged on the premises. To view the logo, simply click on it.
