Notice: Institute Evaluations

May 9, 2005

Notice:

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has commissioned EKOS Research Associates Inc. in association with Goss Gilroy Inc. and Natalie Kishchuk Program Evaluation and Applied Social Research to conduct an evaluation of each of the thirteen Institutes. As part of the evaluation process, EKOS or one of the associate firms will be conducting interviews with a series of key informants including researchers, partners and other stakeholders in addition to members of the Institute Advisory Boards and CIHR staff. The purpose of these evaluations is to obtain feedback from the various CIHR communities on an assessment of the overall effectiveness of CIHR Institutes and to identify any areas for improvement.

CIHR has provided names of researchers, stakeholders and other interested parties to EKOS Research Associates for purposes of this evaluation only. A representative from the EKOS Research team may be contacting you within the next few weeks to ask for your cooperation in completing an interview.

Although your participation is voluntary, your responses are very important to ensure that the results truly and accurately reflect the views on the performance of the CIHR Institutes. The interviews should take approximately 60 to 90 minutes to complete. Your responses will be kept confidential by EKOS. The final reports will present the findings in aggregate form only.

If you have any questions or concerns about the evaluations please do not hesitate to call Mr. Angus O'Leary with the Evaluation and Analysis Unit, Corporate Affairs, CIHR (613) 941-0935.
