Healthcare Policy, a new Canadian journal for health services and policy researchers, is the product of a partnership between IHSPR, the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research (CAHSPR) and Longwoods Publishing.
Healthcare Policy is designed to be a key knowledge translation vehicle to stimulate communication and cross-fertilization between researchers and health care decision makers. It has a strong focus on KT and features a wide variety of interdisciplinary research, as well as policy analysis articles, commentaries, editorials and interviews with key members of the research and health care communities.
IHSPR has supported the establishment of a Canadian health services and policy research journal since the Institute's inception. The publication of the first issue of Healthcare Policy in September 2005 represented a significant milestone for IHSPR and many other committed individuals and organizations. IHSPR's Scientific Director, Dr. Morris Barer, chronicles the journal's evolution in this first issue.
Healthcare Policy can be viewed online. Print and electronic copies of the journal are free to members of the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research.
