Dr. Judee Onyskiw

Dr. Judee Onyskiw

Associate Professor
Faculty of Nursing
University of New Brunswick

Judee Onyskiw holds a Canada Research Chair in Family Violence and Children's Health and is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick. She earned her her PhD in Nursing in 1999 from the University of Alberta.  For her dissertation on children's responses to witnessing violence in their families, she was awarded the Sigma Theta Tau International Region I Research Dissertation Award.  Dr. Onyskiw completed three years of post doctoral studies at the University of Alberta. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards including fellowships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research, the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and the Perinatal Research Centre at the University of Alberta.  Her research interests focus on the immediate and long-term effects of witnessing family violence on children's health and development.
