Kue Young

Dr. Kue Young

Professor, Department of Public Health Sciences
Faculty of Medicine
University of Toronto

Kue Young is Professor and TransCanada Pipelines Chair in the Department of Public Health Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Prior to joining U of T in 2002, he was Head of the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. He received his B.Sc. and M.D. degrees from McGill, M.Sc. in community health from Toronto, and the D.Phil. in biological anthropology from Oxford. He is a certified specialist in community medicine by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He is currently in his second 5-year term (2003-08) of the CIHR Senior Investigator award. He has many years of clinical practice, public administration and academic research in northern Canada and developing countries overseas. His research interests focus on the health of Aboriginal populations in Canada and the circumpolar countries, especially the epidemiology and control of emerging chronic diseases such as diabetes.
