Dr. Peter Scholefield has had a long association with the National Cancer Institute of Canada, first as the recipient of a Studentship, then progressively to become Director of the McGill University Cancer Research Unit. He joined the National Office of the Institute in 1969 and served for many years as its Executive Director. He was an active participant in the strategic planning process that led to the formation of a Behavioural Research Unit to facilitate research into cancer prevention.
