Electronics and Combat Systems
This organization is responsible for the acquisition, integration
and support of a wide range of complex electronics, communications
and mission systems for air, land and sea environments, including
avionics systems, radar systems, sensors, underwater systems, trainers
and simulators, electro-optical systems, land communications systems
and security and information operation systems. Major project activities
include the Aurora Incremental Modernization Project (AIMP), Tactical
Command, Control and Communications System (TCCCS), Military Automated
Air Traffic System (MAATS), North Warning System, Defence Message
Handling System (DMHS) and others.
Combat Systems also acquires a wide range of technically complex
armament systems such as wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles,
large and small calibre weapons and ammunition, as well as engineering
repair and overhaul and maintenance services, and spare parts support
to meet federal government and foreign government requirements.
The organization has also an office in London, Ontario which is
responsible for the acquisition of wheeled light armoured vehicles
for foreign governments on behalf of the Canadian Commercial Corporation's
export initiatives (CCC/LAV Projects).
