‘O’ Division HQ Criminal Intelligence

Criminal Intelligence services are the key area which supports both RCMP senior management, and enforcement operations in the Division. Through intelligence-led policing, the mandate of this service is to gather and share knowledge that will effectively combat organized crime, and provide advice in the deployment of resources to that end.

Intelligence Services are divided into working components situated at 13 locations within ‘O’ Division.

Criminal Intelligence and Tactical Criminal Analysis

Criminal Intelligence and Tactical Criminal Analysis that manage information through the Intelligence process (directions and planning; collection; evaluation; collation; analysis and; reporting and dissemination) and provide analytical services in support of operations. These intelligence services participate in partnerships with public and private sector entities from a local to international level who have shared interests in suppressing organized or enterprise crimes.

National Security Investigation Section

Members are mandated with investigations that concern threats to national security and criminal extremism/terrorism. Duties include intelligence and counter-terrorism in concert with other RCMP, domestic and foreign agencies, diplomatic and parliamentary communities and the public.

Division Criminal Analysis Section

This section provides strategic analytical services. Strategic analysis takes the form of advisory support for senior management. It is most often the primary component of forecasting, resulting in policy development and resource allotment.

Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario

A component of the Solicitor General for the Province of Ontario, the RCMP Intelligence Services contribute intelligence and analytical support to Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario. This is the formal link to the Provincial Intelligence body that supports intelligence sharing among Ontario law enforcement agencies.
