The objective of this strategic initiative is to support research in the area of monitoring and optimizing CPR, which will ultimately result in enhanced quality CPR and improved outcomes in both adult and paediatric populations. Research findings supported by this RFA should also contribute to the development of the updated version of the Guidelines for Resuscitation in 2010.
Duration of Award: up to 3 years
Award Value: up to $200,000/year
For more information please see the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Monitoring and Optimizing CPR page.
This RFA is intended to fund research that explores how present and proposed policies, strategies, tools, training approaches, legislation or guidelines relating to knowledge transfer of resuscitation science influence the uptake of knowledge by lay-rescuers and/or first responders such as health care providers. This evidence should lead to the development of new or improved knowledge transfer policies, mechanisms and/or tools that will help to improve survival outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest and, ultimately, reduce disability and death among Canadians.
Duration of Award: up to 2 years
Award Value: up to $100,000/year
For more information please see the Heart and Stroke Foundation's Resuscitation and Knowledge Translation: The Community and Health Care Providers page.
