Ian McCowan

Ian McCowan was appointed Assistant Commissioner, Policy and Research on July 17, 2006.

Ian began his career in 1991 with the Department of Justice. For most of his career, Ian was counsel with the Civil Litigation Section in Ottawa where he represented the government before a variety of courts and administrative tribunals. In 1999, he was appointed Director of Legal Services for the Parks Canada Agency. In March 2001, he became the Director of Legal Services at CSC.

Ian has a Commerce and a Law degree from Queen's and a Masters in Law from Cambridge.
