J. P. Denis Méthé

Denis Méthé was appointed Regional Deputy Commissioner, Quebec Region in July 2004. Previously, he held numerous important positions within the Correctional Service of Canada.

His career began in 1973, when he was recruited under the federal government's Administrative Trainee Program. Subsequently, he held various management positions at national headquarters including executive secretary to the Commissioner; director, Correctional Policy and Inter-jurisdictional Affairs; and associate assistant commissioner, Corporate Services. In addition, he did extensive work in strategic and operational planning.

Denis worked for nearly seven years as the director general, Offender Programs, in addition to performing the duties of director, Offender Programs and Reintegration.

For nearly three years, he held the position of director, Montreal Metropolitan District, the largest district in the country (based on the number of offenders under supervision).

Denis is from Québec. He graduated from the Université Laval with a degree in law.
