Prosecution Bulletins

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is responsible for enforcing a number of Acts of Parliament in order to deliver inspection and related services for consumers and industry that contribute to food safety, animal health and plant protection.

As part of its ongoing effort to increase awareness of CFIA’s role in encouraging compliance with the various Acts and Regulations, the CFIA issues prosecution bulletins when a conviction is obtained.

November 2006

• November 28 - Saskatchewan Company Fined $2,000 for Violating the Food and Drugs Act

• November 27 - Ontario Company Fined $3,000 for Offences Under the Meat Inspection Act

• November 14 - Matrix Environmental Solutions Ltd. Fined $8,000 for Violating the Feeds Act

October 2006

• October 20 - Nova Scotia Court Fines Les Pêcheries Marinard Ltée. $3,000 for contravening the Fish Inspection Act

• October 20 - Nova Scotia Court Fines Carey Robichaud $1,500 for contravening the Fish Inspection Act

September 2006

• September 16 - Manitoba Company Fined $2,000 for an Offence Under the Meat Inspection Act

• September 12 - Importer Fined for Illegally Importing Fish

August 2006

• August 29 - Ontario Company Fined $8,000 for Offences Under the Fish Inspection Act

• August 18 - Alfred Issac Fined $750.00 for Undeclared Net Quantity

July 2006
