Mission | Partnerships | Programs | Coordinators Drugs and Sport Drug use and abuse in sports is as relevant an issue to high school students as it is to high-profile professional athletes. The use of performance-enhancing drugs goes beyond elite athletes to involve a significant number of young people who are concerned with their performance and appearance. Drugs and Sport: The Score Drugs and Sport; The Game Plan The goal of the lesson plan is to provide students with accurate information about the current issues and the legal and health consequences of drug abuse in sport. The plan includes six short presentation modules, complete with overhead transparencies, and encompasses a suggested sixty-minute instruction session. A short video entitled "Nature of Things: Pretence of Performance" and a collection of reference material are included. |
