Public Works Management

Environmental Management

Whenever people intervene in the environment - for example, by building community infrastructure and housing - there is environmental impact. Environmental management is necessary to ensure that any negative impacts from human activity on the environment are minimized.

There are many areas related to environmental management, however, the five areas that are the most pertinent in the First Nation context are:

Environmental Assessments and Audits;
Climate Change;
Contaminated Sites;
Fuel Storage Tanks;
Sustainable Development.
