The web site will give you a better understanding of how the surgical care system works, what options you have and who you can call.

What's New

To more accurately reflect surgical wait times, days that patients indicate they are unavailable for surgery are no longer included when calculating wait times. This change was recommended by the SSCN.

The number of patients waiting continued to drop in the first quarter of 2006-07. About 550 fewer people are waiting for surgery to be performed in Regina and Saskatoon.

This spring, Saskatoon Health Region added 630 new paediatric dental surgeries to the Web site, because these procedures will be provided in hospital operating rooms.

The latest data shows that between January and June, 85% of surgeries were done within 6 months, and 93% within a year.

The longest waits for non-emergent surgery are in orthopaedics, plastic surgery and ophthalmology. We continue to focus on patients who have been waiting longest.
