Protecting Water Quality

Where can I find information on how land use impacts on water quality?

Human activity can have a significant negative impact on both our groundwater and surface water resources in Prince Edward Island. The Department of Environment, Energy and Forestry, prepared a three-part series exploring this issue in March 2003.

Part 1 of the series looked at how land use practices can impact on groundwater quality.

Part 2 focussed on impacts on surface water.

Part 3 looked at how measures such as crop rotation and buffer zones are helping to protect water quality.
