Montréal, November 27, 2006 – As a result of an investigation conducted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Immigration and Passport Section, a Montréal language school principal, Lanfeng Liu, will appear in court on January 23, 2007, to face 12 counts of indictment for uttering forged documents. Lanfeng Liu, 41, opened the Q.G.I. school in Montréal in January, 2004. On November 21, 2006, he was accused of issuing false report cards and transcripts to Chinese students. The offences for which he has been charged were committed between February and August, 2004. Up to $1,500 for a False Document This investigation conducted in October, 2005 by RCMP Immigration and Passport Section investigators in partnership with the Canada Border Services Agency Intelligence Service and the ministère de l’Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec led to the laying of charges against the accused under the Criminal Code of Canada. - 30 - For Information: |
