WHAT WE DO
This section is responsible to assist Departmental leaders and other personnel with the budget process and regular financial reviews. As well, this unit has the overall responsibility for the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of the Department including claiming activities under Federal-Provincial Agreements. On going support is also provided to Departmental users of the ORACLE Financial Information System.
This section is responsible for the processing of leave and pay for approximately 200 permanent departmental employees, monitoring employee benefits, coordinating staff recruitment and position classification, administering the departmental Human Resource Development Plan, and providing advice and assistance to all staff on employee relations issues (interpretation of the "Collective Agreement" and implementation of other human resource policies/legislation).

The section is responsible for the administration of the Production Insurance Program, Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) Program and other income support programs.
